Hello,

I have a rose bush in a large pot. We've had a rainy winter and this morning I was turning the soil in the pot and noticed a few of these bugs 🐛 (photos attached). They're black in color, about a quarter inch long when fully extended and roll up into a ball the moment they're disturbed. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what this bug is and if i should take remedial action or let them be. I didn't touch them with my hands and for now have let them be.

Thank you!
