Yes, way fewer per pot...like three or four. There is nothing wrong with your existing seedlings except they are too crowded and ready to be transplanted into larger containers which must have drainage holes. Then it's time for gentle feeding unless your potting soil contains fertilizer.

Rain itself doesn't harm the seedlings, but if it's too heavy it could dislodge the tiny roots, in which case covering with a breathable fabric would be helpful.
