This might give you a hint as to how hard it can be to ID some of these plants.
This is what are known as the 'Royal Court' or 'Royal Flush' Philodendrons. You will note that most have more than one name, which only adds to the confusion surrounding them.
Many are McColley Hybrids, but not all, some are BELIEVED to be from the McColley breeding program, but its uncertain as he made so many thousands of plants, most of which he never patented and Brough to market, but still probably float around, being originally in the collections of a few old collectors then shared through gifting and trading until eventually a lot of people may have them but no one is sure what they are. 1. Ace/King of Spades...known ONLY in Australia as Anderson's Red, known here and most often as King of Spades, and is believed to be the same plant as Dark Lord. This is mine
2. Red King (may or may not be the same as Sun Red/Red Sun)
3. Royal Queen (aka Zulu Prince, Black Knight, Black Jack, Bloody Mary, Majesty)
I purchased mine prior to 2010 from Asiatica Nursery as Zulu Prince
4. Queen Elizabeth...believed to have originated in India, then was exported to Australia. Its very rare in the US, I happen to have one
5. Prince of Orange
6. Prince Albert
7. Pink Princess
8. Orange Princess
9. Green/Burgundy Princess (a reverted Pink Princess, to either green or burgundy)
10. White Princess
11. Emerald Duke
12. White Knight
13. White Wizard
14.Imperial Green
15. Imperial Red
16.Red Empress (a form of Henderson's Pride that flushes red under light stress)
17 Choco Empress (aka Green Empress, Caramel Express, Pluto)
18. Painted Lady
