The plants are living. Excess soil will be removed for shipping. Top-growth will be removed on Old Garden and Modern Hedge Roses with 6 to 8" retained. Top-growth on Mini-roses will be maintained. Trimming the top-growth increases ease of planting and increases re-growth and increased root development when planted. Roots will be wrapped in dampened materials and encased in plastic. The plants will be individually wrapped and labeled with common and botanical names. Plants will be shipped directly from the grower using USPS Priority service and Delivery Confirmation. The Delivery Confirmation number will be shared with the buyer to assist in tracking the plant's arrival. If the order is larger than 12 plants, the buyer will be contacted directly for special shipping techniques.

Narrative Introduction to Co-Op:

Old Garden Roses Historic Roses or Antique Roses..for the purposes of this Rose Co-op are classified as older than 75 years. The roses we have chosen are all low maintenance and hardy. These roses are grown on their own roots and therefore do not revert to base grafting material as a result of severe cold, heat, or other stress. All are disease, insect and deer resistant. All are ever-blooming (perpetual) or long-blooming with varying intensities of fragrance. All are well-behaved in the home garden. Your cultural questions will be cheerfully answered...we have been raising these beauties for more than 25 years!

Hardy Hedge Roses were developed from Old Garden Roses and field-tested for multiple years in adverse conditions before release to the trade. All are appropriate for a living fence that produces a long-blooming benefit.

Miniature Roses are an enduring garden addition that gained great popularity in Victorian Times. The miniatures that we raise are all hardy in the landscape and are not the mini-roses sold in grocery stores. A mini-rose is defined as miniature when either the bloom, leaf or size of the plant is small when mature. Our selection offered through this Rose Co-op represent hardy plants that produce long-blooming mini-blooms, dark green mini-leaves and are smaller in size for landscape planting. Our choices are either older hybrids (Mid-1950s) or historic.
