I was happy to find this thread, as my 'plain yellow' Oncidium needs potting. It had declined last year, a lot of sphagnum but conditions, including how I packed the pot, were different enough that it did poorly. I moved it to a vase but a lot of roots were/are brown. It bloomed, just about done now, but the bulb has shrunk. So, I'll probably try again in a pot of finer bark or looser sphagnum.
