I never buy pepper seedlings anymore. The choice is too poor. It's better and cheaper to order the seeds and start my own. Have three reds, a white, a couple of greens, a purple and some mixed minis which I like for stuffing.
All the first batch of tomatoes need potting up and I'm a little short of space in the nursery tent. Guess they'll be all right on the bench, now the weather's finally warming up.
Today, a great big flock of ladybugs (the nice dark red ones, not the orange mean ones) appeared in my front porch. I have no idea where they were hibernating. I left the door open all afternoon and at least half of them found their way out; I'm hoping some of the remainder will come into my cold house.
Will have to bar the cats from there soon and replace contaminated soil in the bins that were not properly covered. If I'm lazy in fall, I always pay with extra work in spring.
Behind every opportunity is a disaster in waiting.
