Macrocentra said: Lexi (dog) went to the vet today. She's had a chronic dry nose for years, but suddenly it's been all green and infected. I took her to the vet I used to work at and we tried antibiotics and an antibiotic ointment but they didn't seem to work. After that she was stumped about what to do.
So I took her to the vet that sees my cats today (I kinda took Lex to the other vet due to convenient location, but kept the cats at their original vet cause they're familiar with their histories. My original vet is in another town.)

We did nose swabs and some other tests. Her nose glows bright green under a blacklight, which the vet said can be a big sign of ringworm. So she took a clipping of her nose for further testing. Going to check for ringworm and other fungal infections.

Hoping this might finally answer the question of what's wrong with her little nose. A past suggestion was a biopsy, but it's risky to put her under anesthetic for it because she has a high grade heart murmur. Sad

Her poor nose looks just awful...
