I really can't tell the difference between Echinocereus rigidissimus subsp rigidissimus and Echinocereus rigidissimus.

But, there seems to be two entries for the subspecies?
Alicoche (Echinocereus rigidissimus subsp. rigidissimus)

Arizona Ruby Rainbow Hedgehog Cactus (Echinocereus rigidissimus subsp. rubispinus)
