Some time ago we discussed bird houses here and I said I had closed up the holes in mine because of the issue I had with wasps building nests in them. Well I forgot to close up one. I had it in the yard near the family room door where I could see this piece of garden art from the chair I sit in. To my big surprise two tiny birds started flying in and out of that little door. I never thought anyone would use that for a nest. This building went on for weeks and weeks. We now have two baby birds in that very tight little space. That nest was build higher then the door opening. The parents are very protective and even sitting still in a chair I could not get a photo of the parents. I watched them chase off a Woodpecker last week that had landed on the tree behind that birdhouse. They each flew back and forth by the Woodpecker till it left. No way to get a photo inside this thing. My husband had surprised me with this gift many years ago and would be so thrilled to see this little family in it. Lovey dubby
