Lynn, I don't recall offhand when the goodyera blooms. One of my wildflower books says July-Sept. but around here I expect it is all about elevation. I had it in my garden many years ago but it got overgrown and I lost it. It may have got overwatered; as a native it prefers the dry summers.
I have seen large patches of these in the woods. It is more notable for its foliage than its flowers. The common name is rattlesnake plantain. Rattlesnake for the leaf pattern and plantain for the growth pattern.
