It's raining heavy right now. Smells lovely and sounds like it's coming straight down. A good rain for the plants is always needed. Let's hope it's constant like this through summer. I do worry as last summer we had gone almost 3 months with no rain. So here's hoping the clouds burst at least once a week this summer.

Need to update my journal of what's planted. I'm moving along slowly but I'm in the ground earlier than last year. So that's good. I think.

Today I hope to get the rest of the plants out of the basement. I'll be doing it myself so I will get out the wagon. I also have one flat left of annuals I forgot about but it's mostly zinnias and marigolds.

This weekend I'll save for the dahlias I think. I have to work but I'll fit the rest around it. And maybe today I'll have enough garden mojo to get the start of the row stakes in the ground. I'll drop them in and measure the distance between them all. I will be glad to have everything in the ground and just have to worry about watering and fertilizer. And hope the pests are not around.

Happy day to you all!
Summer, after all, is a time when wonderful things can happen to quiet people. For those few months, you're not required to be who everyone thinks you are, and that cut-grass smell in the air and the chance to dive into the deep end of a pool give you a courage you don't have the rest of the year. You can be grateful and easy, with no eyes on you, and no past. Summer just opens the door and lets you out. – Deb Caletti: Honey, Baby, Sweetheart
