I am sorry Bill felt so bad, but it sounds like he did OK on his own. I am really glad you got to spend some good time with your friend.
Perhaps having the Hospice Nurse you feel good about will also make you & Bill feel a bit better about his treatment.
Normal seems to be a moving target in most of our lives, I know it is in mine. Hope you find yours.
Good luck with the "beast." I used to whack mine up side the monitor now and again. They can be soooo frustrating.
Don't know if it did any good, but made me feel better.
