Wow, Melva. I can't wait to see photos. I had no idea that there actually was a truly picoteed old rose. Is Mercedes the white gallica by Vibert?

I'm afraid I killed Lemon Spice pretty speedily. I think maybe it got a touch of frost right when it arrived. And that was it. I'm delighted to hear that it does well on its own roots. My order for Vintage went in today, too. Maybe next year it'll be on the list.

Duchesse du Rohan keeps missing my list by just bit. This time, I just sort of breezed past the Portlands.

My token old roses for the order were Erinnerung an Brod, Eugene Degaches, and Primavere. The latter two are so rarely offered that I thought I should jump. I saw Primavere once in bloom and there was something special to it that had nothing to do with just color or shape or number of flowers. I couldn't resist Goldfassade based on the photos at VG. I'm so happy with a City of Leeds that I'm getting another, even though it's only just barely bloomed. And I couldn't resist Minuette, especially after seeing Sue's photo of it at HMF. I was somehow possessed to get Regensberg. It's not really pretty, just kind of unusual. I wonder if it would look good with Champagne Cocktail?
When you dance with nature, try not to step on her toes.
