Well, I'm grateful for a good gardening season this year. Mostly, I'm sad to see it go. There is a fresh infestation of aphids that respond to my almost daily soap spraying in a kind of whack-a-mole fashion, and I'm seriously hoping they will be wiped out soon by frost. When it strikes I have a lot of dahlias to dig up. Maybe my "living mulch" for new rose beds this year can help me tame new territory next year. They really push bloom season into fall nicely, too.
