A shrewd merchant would have told you the rain washed the TWO first 1s, making this an $1,110 pot. At that price, they had better come up with a very good provenance story. A $5 antique butter churn is just that: an old butter churn...boring! But, make it into the butter churn that Martha Washington used to make butter for the shortbread cookies George loved so much, and it's now a national treasure. Publicize the story and you'll have a representative of the Smithsonian museum at your door in less than 2 days. Jim, I say you should have bought the pot at $110 and worked on a good provenance story to cash in on this. Who knows, that nursery might still have said pot.
