mowing or grazing... in a SOHO loft back in the 60's.. I had a raised open bedroom.. whose floor was grass... with lighting inbetween the joists.. the bed hung suspended by chains over the grass.. I'd cut it with scissors.. but that was before the day of the string trimmers..which I use now for my small roof lawn..
