I knew what you meant. True geraniums are hardy and there's no need to take cuttings. I think it's a great idea to take cuttings of the pels. I'm glad you brought it up before too late in the season. I'll just fill a bunch of pots with wet potting soil, put them all in the wheelbarrow, and wheel it around the garden to all of the pels that need this done. That way I can just plunge the cuttings into the pots and then wheel everything into the solarium. This way it'll actually get done. If I went around taking cuttings before I filled the pots, I'd end up leaving the cuttings in a pile for a few days (or forever) first.
