I don't know if anyone has taken you up on your offer yet but I hope so! This is Aloe maculata, commonly called the Soap Aloe; a great plant, and very easy to grow!

Aloe maculata is common here in Florida and when planted in the ground will multiply quickly and spread for a nice ground cover. When grown in full sun they will turn darker and reddish in color. When planted in a container they seem to grow tall but in ground they have a more spreading habit. This is a great plant to have around for minor scrapes and burns! I've grown it for many years and can't imagine being without one. If I burn myself in the kitchen I immediately go out and cut a stem of this aloe, snip off the thorns, slit the leaf/stem along the side and rub the aloe juice on the burn ... it works like a charm taking the sting out of a burn. *** Warning **** Use for MINOR burns only! If you get a serious burn you should seek medical attention immediately!!

For more information on this plant here's a link to the entry for this Aloe in the database: Soap Aloe (Aloe maculata)
