My calendar says it's November, and the deer are definitely acting like it's November, but Holy Cow it is 80 degrees outside. The roses are still growing and blooming, and I'm still planting the last of my ridiculous clearance purchases.
When I ordered from Palatine, i requested delivery the week of November 19. If they send me bare-root, dormant roses, will they stay dormant, or will they try to leaf out? If we have cooled off by then, I shouldn't have an issue, but if this warm weather continues, should I keep the roses in the garage where it is slightly cooler and darker?
Since the soil temp is still 58 degrees, should i wait until it cools off?
I have not planted all my new bulbs, either.
Our rainfall is 6" down for the year, and we're still watering. it doesn't help that the wind is a constant 30 mph and is supposed to get worse tomorrow.
We hired a guy to paint our big ugly barn and he showed up alone today. He's up on a ladder, spraying paint in this wind. I usually ask subs if they have insurance before i hire them, but I forgot on this guy. That may have been a bad decision.
Rolling my eyes. Rolling my eyes. Crying
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.
