I love the big glassines for ORGANIZING smaller Ziplocs into bundles. it makes them easier and faster to find.
I can open a "humidor" and quickly pull out one glassine envelope, then seal it again quickly to keep humidity out. I shouldn't call a tub with silica gel dessicant a "humidor", I should call it a "dessicdor".
I might have 10-20 of something that I gathered or split, and want to be ready to trade or give them away.
I have several varietes of Salvia coccinea to keep separate from Salvia farinacea and other Salvias. I have separate bundles for Cosmos, Lobellia, Petunias and Violas.
When I tape glassine down, I always stick a tiny slip of paper onto the end of the tape, a little wider then the tape and 1/8-1/4 inch wide. That gives me something to grab when I peel the tape back. If you're dexterous, you can just fold the tape end over onto itself to give youi a fingernail-catcher.
Glassine can be expensive! Yes, 7 cents is easier to find than less. Also check to see if they are "top open" or "side open".
I'll buy glassine from ULINE (cheaper but poor quality) or "Clearbags".

I like the 3x5.5" glassine "# 1 Peanut Bags" because I can stuff 20-25 2x3" Ziplocks into one 3x5.5"glassine bag, and they take up less space in my storage tubs. $22 per 1,000 or 2.2 cents each before S&H.
Those are good to get a group order together for! However, if you only want a few hundred bags, you wind up paying much more for postage than for the bags. I think postage for a bubble mailer is now $1.95 for the first three ounces. (BTW, ULINE sells cheap bubble mailers IF you want to buy 250 or so!)
I think I have a lifetime supply of the smaller galssines, since I don't use them as often. I MIGHT live long enough to use up the 3"x5.5" Peanut bags I didn't split!

FETPAK used to have deals for very tiny colored Ziplocs, but they had a minimum order size or big S&H last time I checked.
