Welcome to the conversation!
The plant is in a bathroom window and only gets about 3 or 4 hours
of afternoon sun. I have another one in a hanging basket in a garden
room that is hanging under an translucent skylight and gets 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
overhead sun and just plain light the rest of the day. The coloring, light,
temperature and humidity are different from the one in the bathroom.
That may cause the slight difference in coloration.

I've had this particular plant since 2005 when I had it planted in a bed
around my front porch. A piece of it remained in the bed when I dug
the plant to bring it in for winter. I was amazed to find it still alive in the
spring, maybe because it was under a wide roof overhang and the temps
were just moderate that winter.
