I have an old thread on another forum, and to it, zuzu posted this:

zuzu said:The Verbena Homestead series and other Verbena canadensis cultivars are actually synonyms of Glandularia canadensis, so if you had these on your plant lists, you'll want to visit the Glandularia section of the database and re-enter the plants under those names.

Glandularia? Really? Am I the only dummy who doesn't know this? I don't doubt zuzu's knowledge or accuracy for a minute. But.... if you are looking for verbena homestead purple, are you going to search that name or glandularia canadensis? Homestead Verbena is listed as a common name, but if I search "verbena homestead purple" there are no results found.

Unless the search can pick up some common names, I don't think the database will be very user friendly to most home gardeners. And google searches won't lead to the ATP database either I don't think.

Just my observation. Can you tell plant names drive me nuts? Confused

Karen
