I bought my first Amaryllis after Christmas last year when they went on sale at our local drugstore, they were potted and ready to bloom, first one was Red Lion, well that was so pretty I wanted another one, so I got a beautiful hybrid white, after blooming I let them grow as houseplants until September, then I let them go dormant. This fall I bought bulbs and potted them up myself, I have Red Pearl, Papillio, it's buds will open soon, and Apple Blossom. I think I'm hooked on them.
