I have two cats. One is a 'walk-on' who I only feed because otherwise she was bullying my real cat's food away from her. The other is 15 years old and insists on going outside at 4 am if she happens to be in the house when we go to bed. I guess they've both figured out the wild critters. And, you're right, that coyote does not appear to be starving. I've seen it a number of times during the day, usually down the hill by our pond, but occasionally it (or another one, who knows) does wander closer to the house. There is a large pack of them in our back woods, I hear them at night. Love it when the babies join in with their little yips and yaps.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
