SongofJoy said:Hi Evan ... There are several varieties of oxalis with solid green leaves, such as O. latifolia. I don't know that there is a standard green-leaved variety, putting it that way. And I do believe that 'Atropurpurea' isn't commonly recognized, but Oxalis purpurea (purple leaved wood-sorrel) is. At least I think so. Glare

Frankly, it's a big headache. nodding

When I say variety/cv I'm referring to O. triangularis not other species. I agree it's a headache (doable though) but I worry that we're eliminating horticulturally important plants. If A. triangularis is found in both green and purple types but these are no longer perceived by taxonomists as significantly distinct enough for a sub-taxa, I feel we should still include the sub-taxa as a separate DB entry. So for instance:

Acer palmatum has green foliage
Acer palmatum var. atropurpureum and it's cultivars have red foliage. It and Acer palmatum f. atropurpureum are synonyms of Acer palmatum but I feel should have a separate DB entry as A. palmatum 'Atropurpureum'.
