It's helped a lot to have the same username across different forums - DG, GW, ATP, NARGS, SRGC ...
People recognize my name, and more than once in real life I've had someone come up to me at some plant society gathering and say, "So you're Leftwood, I'm very happy to meet you!". (Someone else had clued them in, putting my face and Leftwood together.) In fact, one was a person I alluded to when we were talking about waterbabies. Anyway, I encourage them to participate, as they have obviously already been to the forum site(s), but none have taken me up on it. Sad Apparently, I come up on Google every once in a while, too.
