Indeed I hope to survive the drive! So glad the sun is well clouded. It only occured to me last night that I should have asked if you have anything I could bench for you - but then we only have a normal sedan to travel in - not quite like having room for 40 stems! (Much envious of that great truck, Anthony Green Grin! )

Thanks Moby - I'm gradually getting a system together for posting photos. There's many more to share.

Rick, I hadn't considered that (the timing of diploid L. lancifolium), but the feature I was looking at was the very flat oval spotting. They look like very tigerish spots to me. The narrow foliage comes through the turkscap, which propably does have L. davidii ancestry. It seems I remember tiger hybrids from a long way back (could be an illusion of childhood), and though I call Montreaux an 'old' hybrid, its younger than those childhood memories. I forgot to mention, but many of this seedling batch tend to throw stem bulbils it something damages the flower buds.

Hmm.. but anyway! Must finish packing for the journey north! Smiling

(And good luck surviving the winds today, Anthony!))
