Santolina is a good xeriscape kind of plant. In NM, the species used was more sage green. I have a front lawn that needs landscaping. We purchased the house under the stipulation that my husband would never have to touch a lawn mower. So this front yard may have to be xeriscaped to save watering and Santolina will be a good candidate for the mounded bed I have in mind.
