That's all very interesting Arif! The one I'm growing I bought in a Thai shop, and I grew one (which I lost) bought in a Chinese shop. But we also have African and Indian food shops. I brought two from my last trip to Brazil, found growing in the wild, they look very different from the one of the Tai shop.
On another trip to Brazil I saw a giant variety which grew in standing water!
It must be an impressive sight to see them growing en mass where you live!
