Good analysis Arif, sounds like Mexico before the revolution. However, revolution brings its own problems as they are finding out in this arab spring. It took Mexico a very long time to begin to find its way after the revolution and often the way that looks safest and best to a people overwhelmed by chaos is the way right back to the dynastic and corrupt governments they overthrew. I feel that things are looking better and better here in Mexico, although there is as always a long road ahead. The economy is doing well, we avoided the worst of the problems from the US, and more and more of the population is living a middle class life. There is a lot of room for improvement for the indigenous but I'm hopeful. I hope that things improve in your area as well.
