There is a game for kids known as Carrom board. You have to hit the striker with your finger tip which goes on to hit other chips which should land in a pocket. Something like Billiards but portable. Kids lubricate the board with Boric powder. Maybe it is still being played in the UK but South Asia it is common. That is how safe it is.
