Koi are very friendly - its lovely, but dangerous! I had some in an indoor tank, and when they got too big I'd take them to a neighborhood pond...until I realized that there was a heron who'd hang out and wait for the silly guys, who weren't used to the big bad outdoors, they thought any shadows on the water meant food! (I think they think everything means food!)
