You know Hetty, I don't know what they are called here, I will ask. We had a cold front come through with rain last week and it blew some of the flowers down a bit early, also making them into wet mulch instead of carpets of pink. Basically, it seems to have shortened the season for them. I'm sure the guys who clean the streets aren't fans but I love the few weeks when the sidewalks are covered in pink.
