A mending attempt for seed is a worthy task. Seed development is such a big draw for the plant's resources that it's likely to work. The seeds themselves will probably be smaller than normal, but chances are that they will still be viable, as long as the pod seems to develop normally. I have had brorken lily stems mend themselves even while still broken at more than 90˚.
