Are there other sheep farmers on ATP that you've interacted with? I've seen there is a badge for raising cows or something and also horses and mules but haven't seen one for sheep Smiling

I don't know if there is or not..... Haven't 'been here long' myself ........... The 'thing about 'hair sheep' ( in opposed to 'woolies') they have NO lanolin,,,,,,,,,, The meat doesn't 'taste like lamb' (traditional) It is extremely lean and tender ( which, coming from a beef and pork background, sounded like an oxymoron to me Smiling ) You can ( and should) cook it like you would beef, no more than medium .............. And frankly, my favorite way is salt, pepper and a tad bit of garlic.............. Easy-peasy ................. It does make the BEST burgers ( and with the pretzel roll recipe I have is wow, good .............. If I had to try and categorize the 'flavor'................ Kinda a cross between beef and elk........... Very mild in flavor ( I do mean 'home grown' beef, NOT supermarket stuff)

What part of Southern Oregon is your boy? Wouldn't it be a hoot if he was in my neck of the woods Big Grin .................................( by askin' I don't mean to ask for 'specifics', more general area ..............)
Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
