I don't know how I missed this when it was first published. Grancy Graybeard is high on my list of trees to add to my property, and my semi-local native nursery has it listed on their website. I'll check with them and see if they really do have it in stock. If they have one, I'll get 2. Hilarious! I have 2 different locations they would probably like. The 3-gal pot is surprisingly affordable ( love my semi-local native nursery).

Sharon, I had tears in my eyes when I finished reading... As someone else said, picturing the headlong dash down the mountainside, after the surprising joy of finally finding the tree, and Aunt Bett's unhesitating agreement that you saved her life...how could there not be moist eyes with a story like that?
