I haven't used the salad containers but I have used the deep clamshells that grapes come on. Holes are already there! They work fine, but I do transplant when seedlings are rather small.

And JVDUBB...really? 138? Do Not order from HCG...unless you check and see what I want too! Rolling on the floor laughing
