In my 9a area, Most parts of my brugmansias die back, but there is normally a branch or two that survives. I don't have the patience or room to bring things in and out, so the couple of things that I don't want to freeze - like my meyer's lemon, I string with the old fashion larger clear Christmas lights. If I ever get another plumeria, I wouldn't mind going the extra step for that one. I had one that died 10 years ago, and have been meaning to get another one one of these days.
