Pretty odd, isn't it? That semp is 'Baby Star', and it had a bunch of chicks stuck together very tightly in a clump. They were actually still on a stolon from the hen. As they grew they developed the trunk. It got top heavy and tipped over. I propped it up again, but then the tree just started to deteriorate. That was too bad. It looked pretty cool while it lasted though!
