Ornamental plants are something that are only grown for beauty, to make someone "cheer" up and feel lifted! And this neighborhood with its hustle and bustle needs that little bit of joy and lifting up!! Its partly what keeps me going when I walk out there and see that someone tore out 1/4 of my plants and left them lying on the ground 
Oh well, they left them lying on the ground and that's why I like my semps and sedums...replant and they'll be just fine! 
Guess its not such a good idea to yell at the drug dealers and tell them I'm taking a photo of their drug deals! It could be them who tore the plants up??? 
Again, it could be worse, I could be relying on these plants for my food - and since I'm not - I'm very lucky!
