Charter ATP Member I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database!
Semps will survive unplanted for a long time. I once threw a bunch into an empty pot and left them there for a year and nearly all were still OK when I got around to planting them. (I had initially decided to throw them out because they were extras). I would be more concerned about being able to successfully get the correct ID's back on them. They will be OK left outside in the weather, as long as they don't develop wings again. I would not want to leave them in the house for any time unless kept cool. Plant at your leisure, they can go weeks easily without planting (again outside in a sheltered location (from the sun))

We all go through plant disasters from time to time. A couple of years ago, we had a tornado pass overhead here. It dropped a lot of large hail, some of it over 2" in diameter. I had a couple of semps blasted to pieces by direct hits of the large stuff but they recovered. The semps held up a lot better than many cars in the area.
