Thank you vallleylynn, I see the birdhouse. My husband is in the middle of drawing up his own design, meanwhile I need to know how to plant the sedums, semps and such. What growing medium is used....sand, gritty soil, how often to water and a such. Definately looking for some advice from someone that has grown them on a birdhousse, I checked out a couple websites but they sugeested using a plastic barrier before adding the soil. I think that would cause the plants to retain to much water.

If anyone has other ideas or websites that are helpful, thanks early for the suggestions. Would like to get some planted for gifts this spring. I hope to paint my birhouses and know it takes a couple months before bird will move in after they have been painted, at least that is what I read on a website. You know how that goes..........do not always trust what is on the web. I know the realy gardeners are here! Marsha
