When I next have any discretionary funds (?!? Hilarious! ) I will be headed first to the Lowes on Galloway at I30 in Mesquite. They consistently have THE best clearance selections of any stores in my area. Noticed that the quantity and pricing varies so much at each of the four stores within easy reach of me and I've been thinking what goes on clearance may be dependent on the individual garden department managers. If you don't find anything 'good' at one and have any others in reasonable drive, might be worthwhile to visit one or more of them.

I have the shade, but hydrangeas aren't practical here unless one is willing to hand water every day during July and August. And I'm not. Sticking tongue out (Our drought water restrictions only allow sprinklers once or twice a week, depending on the city).
It’s okay to not know all the answers.
