Yeah,....it's not the same...........I'm doin' my best not to "obsess" over that fact...........especially after the great disaster in the Gulf
I've loved the Gulf Coast environment....all my life. How wonderful it was for you to be within walking distance of the beach.
Dee & I lived in Corpus Christi for a couple of years during our 1st few years of marriage......and it was a naturalist's dream....especially at night,...with a lantern to illuminate the crystal clear water....exposing so many different types of animals not seen during the day. Many times,... I 've stood thigh/waist deep in that beautiful water....wade fishing....as the 1st light of morning slowly revealed all the surrounding beauties....above & below the surface of the water.....it was like standing in an aquarium..........schools of different types of fish would glide by.....some would come up to me....curious. I've seen speckled trout slowly swim around me....at the surface....so much so that their pectoral fins would be sticking out of the water.....undulating as they were suspended there......examining me....as I examined them.
I've been blessed to have been able to explore the entire Texas coastline....from Sabine Pass down to Port Isabel....all points in between.
I can only imagine that the Miss. coastline had the same to offer.....if one were so inclined to explore
