Ken, I just got my first Jewel orchids for my birthday in March and went looking for info. The score's not in yet on how successful I'm going to be, but so far they are growing like crazy.

Here's a link to the site where my kids bought the orchids. There are two other types on this site as well, an "alba' version of Ludisia discolor, and a little one called Macodes petola. ( I have all 3) All seem to need low light and lots of moisture. We saw some gorgeous ones growing at one of the nurseries we visited yesterday in Apopka. As this description says, they seem to grow easily, like a groundcover plant, so I'm giving them a shallow dish-shape pot, with room to ramble over the top of the soil. If they do well with the weather through the summer, I'm going to try a few cuttings in the garden.
