Mona, near the end I will post pictures of irises that I'm not that thrilled with, mainly because of narrower falls and not many ruffles -- but I still have some newer ruffled beauties to post first. And Sue, I can tell that we have very similar taste in ruffles! My absolute favorite form is the incredibly ruffled form that EYE FOR STYLE has, but I haven't found that many that are that totally ruffled for me. Another that comes to mind is STOP FLIRTING, also by Barry Blyth -- oh yes, and Keith's ROARING TWENTIES is like that too.
Most of these pictures were taken at least a few days ago, except for the pictures of REVISION from this morning.
The wowser for this morning is:
REVISION - Keith Keppel - I usually wait until the second day when the blooms are more relaxed to take pictures, but this one seemed really perfect on the first morning. I may have more pictures tomorrow if it changes. This is a large flower, and much prettier in person than my camera can capture.
PALACE SYMPHONY - Blyth
INSIDE JOB - Ghio - Looks really blue in my garden
GYPSY GEENA - Blyth - Always a favorite!
FOREVER GOLD - Sutton - Just about the very first to bloom in my garden each spring and is a rebloomer
TUSCAN SUMMER - Keppel
MULBERRY MAGIC - Blyth
EXPLICIT - Ghio - Another early bloomer
And I'll finish with another picture taken this morning of GRAND CLASSIC by Rick Tasco. This is a real beauty, deeper colored and also a little more plum colored than this picture shows. I'm very impressed!
