This plant is growing in a 19 cm "short Euro pot". It holds the equivalent amount of soil as a 1 gallon trade pot (3 qt actual volume) but it is shorter and wider than the standard 1 gallon nursery container - 7.5" x 5.75" rather than 6.375" x 7.25". Also, although 'Lucerne' is recommended to zone 9, I have several of these in my zone 10b garden and they are quite content.
