I have an ornamental (purple) plum that appears to have been wrapped prior to getting to the nursery. All the branches are nearly vertical to the main trunk and sometimes crossed and intertwined. I've thought about wedging spacers between the trunk and larger branches, hoping it will help the tree form a new habit. But what about pruning? Any ideas how to choose which branches to cut? There seem to be too many. All advice welcome. Thumb of 2013-05-02/tomatofreak/c6b268
