They ARE nice! I've been seeing them since early in April. The Painted Bunting seems to keep as low a profile as possible, hiding in shrubs and trees. But it does have to eat, so it'll come to a feeder...it likes white millet mainly. I've been told that they don't stay long in cities, usually no more than a few days. Here's the gang at one of my feeders earlier today. Painted Bunting and Lesser Goldfinch.
