As I've whined on this cubits forum, the month of April was totally sucky. In a nutshell, this is what happened: had a miscarriage (didn't even know I was pregnant, but found out when I ended up in the hospital in a LOT of pain and mess), Freyja died, and had Wolfgang diagnosed with cancer and is living barely day-by-day. Finances are a mess (mainly due to a $750+ vet bill where the vet basically told me that if I don't do another $250 worth of tests, I just signed my dog's death-warrant, but there's no guarantee that he'd live through the tests), weather's been a mess, and, in general, my life's been pretty sucky. Not a 1000th of those poor people in the SouthEast (tornado hit areas), or in the Midwest with the floods, or the NorthEast with the constant rain/snow. But everyone has a bad day or so, and April 2011 just seem to compound it upon itself to hit me harder than almost any other time of my life.

It makes a person finally sit back and contemplate their lot in life and figure out what ways to make it better. And, since April was so craptastic, there *has* to be a way to make things better. I came across this comic today (Pearls before Swine) and have decided to adopt the first 2 panels as my motto for life. Please make sure that you open the entire comic to appreciate it.

And now if you'll excuse me, I think I'm gonna see if I can find me some Krispy Kremes.
